*big sigh*

Yeah. It's Monday. Back to the day job today.

Vacation was wonderful. I could use another week of it. I could use about a year of it, but the sad fact is, the mortgage still requires me to do the day job thingie for now. Yet another reason to commit as deeply as possible to making the press successful.

Yesterday was relatively quiet and I managed to dig out a huge portion of my desk from the paper snowfall that had overtaken it. I've still got more to file and I've run out of file folders *again*, but it's nowhere near as dire as it was. So. Thank Crom for small favors.

In other related news, The Wishing Coin is finally up and listed on Amazon, which tickled me so pink I could hardly see straight. Today, I make the final corrections on Messy Divorce and it'll join TWC on Amazon in a few short weeks. Woot! Now to write a press release...

Tomorrow, I'll have a review of an acquaintance's book, City of Pillars. If you dig Cthulu mythos/Lovecraft, you'll dig this.

And that's about it. Here's hoping my Outlook doesn't spontaneously combust when I open it when I get to work. Everyone cross your fingers.

Barely.

So I post.

Presents, wrapped. Check.

Cake, baked. Check.

Decorations, prepped. Check.

Ribs, marinating. Check.

Party lights, hung. Check.

*dusts hands*

Well, that about covers it. Last bit of cleaning tomorrow morning and runs to the store for the last minute things that always get forgotten and gosh darn it, it'll be a birthday party fit for any Toddler Queen Mouse.

I keep finding myself smiling when I sit down to rest, thinking of it all. We haven't gone that crazy really, not as crazy as I've seen some parents. But I feel the love that all three of us have put into this little party. It's the kind of party I wish that my mother would have thrown for me as a kid, but never did, because her illness impeded her.

I don't want to go back to the day job next week. I want this to go on for at leas another week and honestly, I'd be happy with it never ending.

But this too, shall pass.

I should link to it, but it's late and I need to turn in. Cosette won The Sea's Bride at the Fyrebringer benefit and loves it. Made my day to know that a piece of my work has found a home where it is loved. I sometimes feel like that's the final part of the art process for me. It's one thing for me to make all this stuff, take all these photographs, paint all these paintings... But until it finds that one person who loves having it on their wall because it makes their world a little more beautiful? It's not finished till that moment.

So, thank you, Cosette, for helping me finish The Sea's Bride.

I got the test copy of The Messy Divorce of Faith and Belief.

Boy howdy, it sure is pretty. I am damn happy with it. Now to do some minor tweaking and print the first run. How cool is that?

And that's the news from this end of the world. Wish us luck for tomorrow. We are going to be overrun by toddlers and parents with alcohol. Which is the only way to survive being overrun by toddlers as any parent will tell you.

First off, since many have asked...

The show went fine. It was rather low key and low energy, but I made some great contacts and it was wonderful to see the work up on a gallery wall. That part just never gets old. Seeing it up in a gallery all by itself? Well, that will be the first, come September. Except for showing in my backyard, I've never had a solo show.

No sales, but sometimes showing is like that and I'm okay with that. It reminded me very much of what it was like to show in San Francisco, which I used to do a fair amount of back in the day.

I'm running behind today, already, because I spent all morning putting the finishing touches to the cover for Matthew's book. It's off to Ingram to be approved for distribution. As soon as I get it back, I get to tack in ISBNs and get ready to push. Yay!

I'm really excited. It looks beautiful.

Other than that, I'm tired, (but when am I not) and feeling good. Don't want to go to the day job, but when is that not true either?

In other news, the Divine Miss B just got back from Lumos in Las Vegas. She had a fabulous time. Go read about the madness at her LJ, barriequark. If I wasn't running late, I'd make with the linky. In the meantime, you all have a fabulous Monday. This woman needs to scamper.
