Great. We’re being evicted.

Welcome home, Anji. Motherfuck.

Our landlord has sold the building to assholes who are going to convert it into their residence, so they can legally evict us. We have 45 to 105 days to find some place to live, as of today.
I am… upset. Less so now though.
I ordered takeout and drank some tequila to process last night, but now it’s about getting my arms around this and getting down to brass tacks, to horribly mix metaphors.
First order of business is that I will be posting about the Everything Must Go Auction/Sale of artwork currently in the house. So my question for all of you is where would you prefer that I post things? Etsy? EBay? What works for you folks? I’m intending on having things go live here in the next few days.
In the physical aspects of what we currently need help with for the actual move is the following:
Referral to a good moving company/movers
Boxes
And that’s really it, for physical stuff.
Mostly, what I really need is for folks to spread the word about the moving sale when it goes live. If the art doesn’t find homes, it’s going to be purged.
Yes. That means destroyed.
So.
Yeah.
I’m really angry. I know that this is for the best. It’s just not the way I wanted this next stage of things to come together. Granted, that’s kinda been a theme for the last few months. Thank the gods I know not to fight it because it doesn’t fit my picture.
As James said to me, this is just a course correction.

Date: 2013-03-30 05:52 pm (UTC)So I'm asking for everyone to hold that the perfect house is just waiting to go on the market in the very near future for us and we will find it in good order.

Date: 2013-03-27 03:49 pm (UTC)We're doing the hardcore sort and purge this week, which is less than fun, but is going well so far.

Date: 2013-03-27 02:45 pm (UTC)Ebay would probably be better, just because people can bid for your stuff and you might get more than what you would sell it for.

Date: 2013-03-28 01:51 am (UTC)I'm so sorry, hon. I'm too far away to help, but we had gotten boxes to move stuff from supermarkets and the hospital receiving dock area. I don't know if you're close enough to larger places to ask about boxes they'd throw out anyway, but as much as it might feel weird to ask, it's one less thing to have to buy. And honestly, buying boxes for moving never made much sense to me.
Alternately, if you wind up having to move far away, we had worked with Mayflower going from NY to WI. They provide all the boxes and packing materials with the price of moving.

Date: 2013-03-28 04:20 am (UTC)ULine is a shipping company that I use all the time and the first 50 boxes arrived today, so I'm feeling less freaked out on that front now. The weird shaped stuff will be the challenge to pack, but it always is.

Date: 2013-03-29 06:15 am (UTC)And yes, it's the odd stuff that always is the crazy making stuff.
Weird fact: I moved every two years of my life until my 30s. I've gotten it down to only moving every four years now, which doesn't make me happy, but it does mean that I've got it down to a science now. It's just a skill I wish I didn't own.
