Ashes

I spent the weekend reading. The computer gave me no joy, so I left it alone.

Life is pretty miserable this morning. Normally, I'd spill, but for once, I don't feel like bleeding out on the virtual page this morning. It's just not worth it.

My head hurts and the smoke hurts my eyes and my eyes were already hurting.

I wish I hadn't had to get out of bed. Work is the last place I want to be today. But considering how bad I feel in my skin, I don't know that there's any place where I'd feel any easier in the same skin.

Someone lie to me. Tell me everything's going to be okay.

Just Live

Pain is no reason for stopping
Giving up is the only crime
Put a knife in my hand, I'll keep running
Keep going, do or die

This world is one of our making
No other hand, no other mind
My eyes may burn from the waking
But I'd rather wake than sleep walk

It's not the life I wanted
But what is?
I'll keep going, even haunted
It's better than an early grave

Don't call me home yet, Lady
You'll have to drag me from the field
Don't tell me it's over, Lady
I'll know that well enough in my bones

So one last toast to the Dead
A remembrance for the rest who are dying
I just need to stay out of my head
And remember it's enough to just live
