Or: SEKRIT PROJEKT REVEALED!!! *kermitflail*
So, here’s the deal.
For years, I have been trying to get the Mad Model to come here to Los Angeles, to attend the annual Labyrinth of Jareth masquerade and ball put on by Sypher, an event going on seventeen years here in Lotus Land.
This year, she finally said yes.
And in reward for my devotion and persistence, she is bringing with her three to six additional actors and dancers. And then all of my righteous women who are here wanted to join. And now it might be closer to twenty of us going.
And then our heads exploded with an Idea.
What started as a frenzied set of texts between us, has now turned into a new photo series and an opportunity to do scenes from Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” with an all female cast of performers over the course of two days.
I know, right??? Isn’t it too exciting???
We have the players. We have the location for the fevre dream. And I’ve already begun work on costumes, props, and jewelry, with the help of players and supporters here in LA. I have a garage full of materials left over from my days as a professional costumer for theater and film.
In another month, we’ll be launching a crowdfunding campaign to help raise money for gas and food, as my models will be driving down from Northern California and one should fuel them for the hardcore creation we’re going to dive into for those two days.
In the meantime, long time readers know what’s coming next! The prop request!!!
We are looking for the following objects for free/cheap/beg/borrow:
Paper lanterns
Big ass green screen
Fainting couch
Tea table table and chairs
Chromakey green silks (for aerialist)
Mask bases
I’ll post updates as we figure out what else we’ll be needing as it gets closer to July and cross things off as we acquire them.
Needless to say, this is by far, the largest project I have ever attempted, in every way. In scope, in number of players, just… everything. I only breathed a word of it to a select group of folks, because I wasn’t sure it was going to come together.
But it’s on now!
On to the fevre dream!
