We’re heading into spring here and this is really an Autumn Goddess, especially with that light, but before we say goodbye to Winter, it’s good to take one last look at the fallow time and remember.

I got horrible news yesterday. A co-worker and friend of mine at the ex-dayjob suddenly died. Details are not mine to share.

He’s just gone.

He was one of the reasons why I was able to get through the days while I was there. Endlessly helpful and cheerful. A good soul with a ready smile for anyone.

Seriously, people. You never know when your number is up. Make sure your affairs are in order. Make sure your paperwork is where folks can find it. And don’t wait till tomorrow to pick up the phone and talk to that person you’ve been meaning to call.

Tomorrow may not fucking come.

I ran today for my friend. Come the marathon, I’ll carry his memory with me. Both days, the thing I will be chanting to get me through will be, “I run for those who cannot. I run for those who would give anything to be able to run again.”

Yeah.

And to all of you, yes, you. I love you. Take care of you and yours.
