A Heads Up

Today's LiveJournal outage means that I will finally be seriously looking into moving the blog.  Probably a Wordpress install on my main site and I'll do my best to make sure that it continues to echo here, since I know that's possible.  I'll also do my best to keep an eye out on comments here and be present.

But as far as maintaining both this blog and the Hunt Press blog natively through LiveJournal, this was, in all honesty, the last straw.

I don't know what's going on around here and frankly, I don't care.  I know that the Net has the propensity to go down.  There's a reason I still write on paper.  Paper never crashes, and barring fire, flood or force majeure, it's as forever as anything human made gets.  But the Net, by its very definition, is both forever and absolutely ephemeral.  One good EMP in the right places and it's gone.  It's a sobering thought.  So while I can't safeguard my online existence in perpetuity (and really, nothing is safe in this World), it only behooves me to move to a more stable platform and one that I can more directly control.

I owe it to myself and my art.  And I also, maybe even more than to myself, owe it to you.

The Net is magick and has saved me and uplifted me and connected me more these past years then anything ever in my life.  Besides doing everything I can to pay it back, it means being where you can find me.

Today, one of the primary ways of finding me was gone because something wonky is going on at LJ headquarters.

I love you, LJ.  But you've screwed me over for the last time.
