Woke in a truly vile temper. Fair warning.

RT @boingboing Neil Gaiman's awesome FAQ justifying his $45,000 speaking fee - Boing Boing bit.ly/a57rkk YES YES YES

Pallas: Huge asteroid visible from Earth - CSMonitor.com: bit.ly/c5R4Xt - I miss my telescope

Okay, fixed up my fashion photography portfolio. Didn't have everything in it that needed to be there.

It doesn't get old to see Between Heaven & Hell on #indiegogo's home page www.indiegogo.com/Between-Heaven-Hell Help fund us!

Zenschooling ARC in process & yet again impressed with just how good this is. But enough editing/layout for one night. #amediting #layout

nightmare

So, some of you know that as a child and young adult, I suffered night terrors, classic text book ones. In high school, I also began to have a classic repeater nightmare.

It was fabulous. NOT.

After much application of meditation and futzing with my sleep disorder (I had insomnia that developed into Sleep Deprivation Syndrome which is (again) not lovely), I was eventually able to end much of this.

Except I occasionally get them back when I am under a certain amount of emotional or intellectual stress. It's like my brain goes, "Ooo! You're focused on something else! Let's see what we've got for you in the Nightmare Closet!" *rummagerummagerummage*

It was an anxiety based nightmare. A stupid one in the light of dawn. But I woke to the alarm, groggy, wonky and if it weren't for the fact that I now know how to hit the snooze button and lucid/recast dreams, I'd be worse off today.

So this is a thank you to my long ago pediatrician, and Janice, who taught me to lucid dream/recast dreams in daydream, and Margie Mom, who signed me up for Conscious Dreaming when I was 17. Between Conscious Dreaming, meditation and lucid dreaming, I don't know how I ever would have gotten my various sleep disorders handled. It's as unconscious to me as breathing now to manage them.

And thank the gods for that. Because my Nightmare Closet? They hire ILM for the effects.

GAH.
