The West Wind
Jun. 3rd, 2009 09:07 am This image ended up as both postcard and header on my official blog at http://www.angelanhunt.com/blog.
I still love it beyond words. The large print of it is amazing and some day, I'll have rasterization software so I can make this sucker, oh, I dunno, about four feet wide, by two feet tall. If not wall sized. I want it as big as the wind it depicts.
What's funny is that this is a small piece from a larger shot I took, but cropped it down to this moment.

I've been looking at cameras.
Canon has just released the 1D Mk. III in its EOS series. For $7K, the camera body by itself can be yours.
I fucking want it. OMG, I fucking want it. 21.1 megapixels. Self-cleaning. Anti-dust technology. L series lenses. More bells and whistles than I know what to even think of. It apparently is *this* close to being mid-format *film* quality. Takes ginormous RAW file images.
WANT.
To get the entire kit I want, I just need to manifest $12,000.
*sigh*
Y'know. I could buy a car for that.
Some days, my chosen art form is very expensive.
Doesn't help that I need to replace the Nikon. It's dying. I've done things to it that should never have been done to a camera. Dropped it. Frozen it. Overheated it. Nearly burned it out. Gotten it wet. I am not easy on electronics. And it's been a damn trooper.
In the meantime, I'm looking at a 50D for about $749 with two lenses, a wide angle and a telephoto.
But I want the $12K kit. Not even including the flash package I dream of.
Some day.
Just call this camera pron.

My life is spiraling back on itself too. I'm having lunch with someone today I haven't seen in 7 years.
Cameras and the past.
Life is very odd today.
