Her foot.

That in all other ways, she is still. Except for all the implied violence by the way she holds her leg and her foot.

She's just fucking amazing.

I love the smokey effect in the lighting.

Until I noticed her foot I assumed she was just plain old dead/passed out. That foot changes everything.

All kinds of narrative suggested by the tension int he foot. In Japanese historical terms, in a fantasy narrative, was she already wounded so badly she's struggling just to hold onto the knife, and intends to finish herself off? Or is she practicing some obscure form of meditation with movement by fine degrees, similar to the male samurai meditations on choosing to die first, daily, over lesser endings? Or is she already dead, and you're seeing muscle contraction after death? And of course there's more possibilities, which is what makes it such an interesting picture.
