Warred III

Warred III, originally uploaded by quennessa.

Last one till the next shoot. I'll probably get back to scanning and uploading old work now, with this done. But here it is. The final image from Between Heaven & Hell. Ascent or descent?

In my head, Zoe Keating's Legions (War) plays as background music to this.

I like the touches of blue, a color historically associated with devils. I like the angle of motion. I like the way the devil is clutching, but the angel is not. This is rich with subtleties!

You're welcome.

I tend to be a very analytical viewer/reader. I'll look at something, enjoy it, and think, "Why is this so nifty?" Then the details pop out at me. I tend to mention them in comments because it usually gives creative folks a happy when someone notices the little things.

Yes, yes! Because sometimes you put in a detail and you love that detail and everyone goes...

meh.

Which is sad making. But I've come to shrug and go on to the next thing, but still love that detail.

Details are like easter eggs. I love putting them into my writing to see what people will spot, and I love looking for them in other people's art/photos/writing.

If you haven't already discovered her work, I recommend the art of [livejournal.com profile] haikujaguar, who excels at including subtle details. On a few occasions, she has put in things especially for me to find. (I've left her well over a thousand comments.)
